How to fix a malfunctioning MMI display on an Audi A5?

My Audi A5's MMI display is constantly showing errors and sometimes doesn't turn on at all. I've tried resetting it multiple times, but it doesn't seem to fix the problem. What could be causing this and how can I troubleshoot it?
