What is the difference between adaptive cruise control and active lane assist in an Audi A8?

I am buying a new Audi A8 and I am trying to understand the differences between adaptive cruise control and active lane assist. They both sound like they would make my driving experience safer and more convenient, but I'm not sure which one I should prioritize. Can someone explain the key differences between these two features and how they work in an Audi A8?

Adaptive cruise control is designed to automatically adjust your speed based on the vehicle in front of you. It uses sensors to maintain a safe distance and will slow down or speed up as needed. Active lane assist, on the other hand, uses cameras to keep your car in the center of the lane. It will provide gentle steering inputs to keep you on track.

As someone who owns an Audi A8 with both of these features, I can tell you that they are both extremely helpful. However, if I had to choose one to prioritize, I would go with adaptive cruise control. It takes a lot of the stress out of highway driving and can greatly improve safety.

I have found that active lane assist is especially useful when driving on curvy roads. It keeps me centered in my lane and reduces the need for constant steering corrections. However, if you do a lot of highway driving, adaptive cruise control may be more beneficial.
