Why do some Audis have a slight delay when accelerating?

I recently bought an Audi A4 and I noticed that there is a slight delay when I press the gas pedal. It takes a couple of seconds for the car to actually accelerate. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

This is actually a common feature in Audis called 'pedal mapping'. It is designed to make the car feel more responsive and sporty. You can have it adjusted by a mechanic if you prefer a more immediate response.

It could also be due to a dirty or worn out air filter. Try getting it replaced and see if it improves the acceleration.

I've noticed the same delay in my Audi A6. It's not a cause for concern, it's just the way the car is designed. You'll get used to it over time.
