There could be a few reasons for this grinding noise. First, make sure that you are fully engaging the clutch when shifting. If the clutch is not fully engaged, it can cause the gears to grind. Additionally, the transmission fluid may be low or dirty which can also cause grinding. It is recommended to have the transmission fluid checked and possibly changed if needed.

Another possible cause could be worn out or damaged gear synchros. These are responsible for making sure the gears engage smoothly when shifting. If they are worn or damaged, it can cause grinding noises. It is best to have a mechanic inspect and potentially repair or replace the synchros if necessary.

It could also be an issue with the clutch itself. If the clutch is worn or slipping, it can cause grinding noises when shifting. It is important to have the clutch inspected and replaced if needed.
