Why does my Audi e-Tron have a limited driving range in cold weather?

I noticed that my Audi e-Tron's driving range decreases significantly when it's cold outside. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my car? What can I do to improve the range during winter?

Cold weather can have a significant impact on electric vehicles, including the Audi e-Tron. The decrease in range is a normal phenomenon and is caused by the battery's chemical reaction slowing down in low temperatures. However, there are ways to improve your car's range in winter. One tip is to preheat your car while it's still plugged in, as this will use electricity from the charging station instead of draining your battery. Also, try to avoid fast acceleration and high speeds, as they can also decrease your range. Lastly, make sure to keep your tires properly inflated, as cold weather can cause them to lose pressure.

I have also experienced a drop in range during cold weather with my Audi e-Tron. One thing that has helped me is using the eco or efficiency mode, which can optimize your car's energy consumption. Additionally, try to plan your trips more carefully and avoid unnecessary detours or stops. This will help you save energy and improve your overall range.
