I recently purchased a used Audi A3 and have been experiencing constant stalling issues. The car will randomly shut off while driving, even on the highway. I've checked the fuel pump and it seems to be working fine. Any ideas on what could be causing this issue?
ReplyHi Emily, it sounds like you could be dealing with a faulty crankshaft position sensor. This sensor is responsible for sending signals to your car's computer, which then controls fuel injection and ignition systems. If the sensor is malfunctioning, it could cause your car to stall. I would recommend getting it checked by a mechanic as soon as possible.
Hi Emily, another possibility could be a problem with the idle control valve. If this valve is clogged or stuck, it could disrupt the air flow to the engine and cause stalling. Have a mechanic inspect and clean the valve to see if that resolves the issue.
Hi Emily, have you checked the engine's air filter? A clogged air filter can restrict airflow and lead to stalling. It's an easy and inexpensive fix, so I would recommend checking that first.
