Can a 1996 Audi 80 handle a larger tire size?

I am considering upgrading the tires on my 1996 Audi 80 and I am wondering if it can handle a larger tire size. The current tire size is 185/70R14 and I am looking at going up to 205/55R16. Will this affect the handling or performance of my car in any way?

Yes, you can safely upgrade to a larger tire size on your 1996 Audi 80 without affecting its performance. With the example sizes provided, the new tire size will have a diameter of 24.88 inches, which is within the acceptable range for the Audi 80. This will also slightly improve your handling and cornering capabilities.
