My Audi 80 seems to be having issues with starting and I suspect it may be due to a faulty fuel pump. Can someone explain to me how I can properly check the fuel pump to see if it's the source of the problem?
ReplyFirst, you should ensure that the fuel pump relay is working correctly. You can do this by connecting a voltmeter to the fuel pump connector and cranking the engine. If you get a reading of 12 volts, then the relay is working fine.
If the fuel pump relay is working fine, then you should also check the fuel pump fuse. If it's blown, then that could be the cause of your starting issues. Replace the fuse and test the fuel pump again.
