I have a 2018 Audi A6 with advanced safety features, one of which is the autonomous emergency braking system. While I appreciate the added safety, it can be annoying to have the car brake for me when I don't need it to. Is there a way to turn off this feature?
ReplyTo disable autonomous emergency braking in your Audi A6, go to the settings menu on your infotainment display. From there, select 'Driver Assistance' and then 'Safety'. You should see an option to turn off the autonomous emergency braking system. Keep in mind, this will also disable other safety features that rely on the same sensors.
Unfortunately, there is no way to disable the autonomous emergency braking in your Audi A6 permanently. According to Audi, this feature is an essential part of their safety system and is always active. However, you can use the 'Audi Pre Sense Disable' button on your dashboard to temporarily deactivate the feature.
If you are concerned about the autonomous emergency braking being too sensitive, you can adjust its sensitivity in the settings menu. Go to 'Driver Assistance' and then 'Minimal distance'. Here, you can choose how far away a vehicle needs to be before the emergency braking is triggered.
