How can the Quattro all-wheel drive system be activated on the Audi A6?

I've noticed that my Audi A6 has the Quattro all-wheel drive system, but I'm not sure how to activate it. Can someone explain the process? Which drive mode should I select for optimal performance?

To activate the Quattro all-wheel drive system, simply press the 'Quattro' button located on the center console. This will engage the system and can be used in any drive mode.
