I just got my hands on an Audi A1 and want to take good care of it. Is there a specific way I should be checking the tread depth on my tires to make sure they are safe to drive on? I want to avoid any potential accidents.
ReplyHaving adequate tire tread depth is crucial for safe driving. To check your tire tread depth, you can use a tread depth gauge or a penny. Insert the penny into one of the grooves in the tire with President Lincoln's head facing down. If the top of Lincoln's head is visible, your tires may need to be replaced soon. If you cannot see the top of his head, your tread depth is still good.
Alternatively, you can also use the manual method by placing a quarter upside down in the tread grooves. If you can see the top of Washington's head, it's time to replace your tires.
Remember to check your tire tread depth at least once a month and before embarking on long drives.
