To check the engine oil level in your Audi A6, start by parking on a flat surface and waiting at least five minutes after turning off the engine. Then, locate the dipstick, pull it out and wipe it clean with a cloth. Insert the dipstick back in and pull it out again to get an accurate reading.

For a more accurate reading, make sure the oil level is between the minimum and maximum marks on the dipstick. If the level is low, add the recommended type and amount of oil slowly, while checking the level again every half quart added.
