I recently got an Audi A6 and I'm not sure how to check the oil level. Can someone explain the process to me step by step?
ReplyFirst, make sure your car is on a level surface and the engine is cool. Then, locate the dipstick, which is usually labeled with a bright color. Pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean with a rag or paper towel. Insert the dipstick back into the tube and pull it out again. The oil level should be between the two dots or within the crosshatched area. If it's low, add more oil. If it's too high, have the excess drained.
To check your oil level, park the car on a level surface, turn off the engine, and wait a few minutes for the oil to settle. Then, locate the dipstick and pull it out. Wipe it clean and re-insert it. Pull it out again and check the level. If it's low, add more oil. If it's too high, have the excess drained.
