The most likely cause of misaligned steering is an issue with the suspension components. It could be caused by a worn out strut or a damaged control arm. It is recommended to have a professional technician inspect and replace any faulty parts as soon as possible to ensure your safety on the road. Also, check the alignment of your tires as that can also affect steering alignment.

Sometimes misaligned steering can also be caused by an issue with the power steering system. Low power steering fluid or a malfunctioning power steering pump can affect the steering performance of your Audi A3. Have a mechanic check and refill the power steering fluid if needed, and replace the pump if it is faulty.

Another possible cause of misaligned steering is a worn out or damaged steering rack. If you notice a grinding or clicking noise when turning the steering wheel, it could be a sign that the steering rack needs to be replaced. It is important to address this issue promptly to prevent further damage to the steering system.
