How does Audi A5's quattro all-wheel drive system work?

I've been curious about the technical details of Audi A5's all-wheel drive system. How does it distribute power between the front and rear wheels? Does it only kick in when there is slip detected?

The quattro system in the Audi A5 has a self-locking center differential and torque vectoring technology which constantly monitors wheel slip and distributes power accordingly. Even in dry conditions, it can send up to 70% of power to the front wheels or up to 85% to the rear wheels for optimal handling and traction.

As an Audi technician, I can tell you that the quattro AWD system in the A5 can detect slip within milliseconds and divert power to the wheels with better grip. It's a sophisticated system that also works with the traction control and ABS for safer driving in all conditions.

I've had an Audi A5 for two years now and have driven it through all kinds of weather conditions. The quattro system is definitely one of the best in the market. It has saved me multiple times from losing control on wet or icy roads. Trust me, you'll feel a lot more confident behind the wheel with quattro.
