How often should I check the transmission fluid in my Audi 80?

I just bought a used Audi 80 and want to make sure I am taking care of it properly. How often should I check the transmission fluid and what should I look for when checking it?

You should check your transmission fluid at least once a month, or every time you get an oil change. Make sure your car is on a level surface and the engine is warmed up. Use the dipstick to check the fluid level and color. If the color is dark or has a burnt smell, it may be time for a change. If the level is low, top it off with the recommended type of transmission fluid.

I recommend checking your transmission fluid every 3,000 miles. It may seem excessive, but it's better to be safe than sorry. If you notice any leaks or unusual smells, it's also a good idea to check your fluid more frequently.
