How to Change the Audi A6's Brake Pads?

I've noticed my Audi A6's brakes are starting to feel a bit worn and I want to change the brake pads. What's the best way to do it and how often should I replace them? Any tips or things I should keep in mind?

Replacing brake pads should be done every 25,000-50,000 miles, depending on your driving habits. But a good rule of thumb is to visually check them every 10,000 miles. As for changing them, first you'll want to loosen the lug nuts on the wheel, then remove the tire and brake caliper. Remove the old pads and replace them with new ones. Make sure to properly torque the lug nuts and test your brakes before driving.

When changing brake pads, it's important to also check the brake rotors for any signs of wear or damage. It's recommended to replace the rotors every other brake pad replacement. Make sure to follow the manufacturer's recommended guidelines for the type of brake pads and rotors to use for your specific Audi A6 model.

I personally recommend using high quality OEM brake pads for your Audi A6. They may be a bit more expensive, but they will provide better performance and last longer than aftermarket options. Also, make sure to properly break in your new brake pads by gradually increasing the braking pressure over the first few hundred miles.
