How to check and refill engine oil in an Audi A4?

I recently bought an Audi A4 and I want to make sure I'm properly maintaining its engine. How do I check and refill the engine oil properly?

To check and refill engine oil in an Audi A4, first locate the oil dipstick in the engine compartment. Pull it out and wipe it clean with a cloth, then reinsert it and pull it out again to check the oil level. If it's below the minimum mark, you will need to add oil through the oil filler cap, which can be found on top of the engine. Use a funnel to avoid spills and add the recommended type and amount of oil as stated in your owner's manual.
