How to program the Audi A3's key fob?

I just purchased an Audi A3 and I can't figure out how to program the key fob. Can someone help me with step-by-step instructions?

First, make sure you have the key fob with you and all doors are closed. Then, insert the key into the driver's door and turn it to the lock position. Quickly hold down the lock button on the key fob. Repeat this step for each additional key fob you want to program.

If that doesn't work, you may need to reset the key fob. To do this, remove the emergency key blade from the key fob, then remove the battery. Wait a few seconds and then put the battery back in while holding down the unlock button. Test the key fob after that.
