How to reset the MMI (Multi Media Interface) in Audi?

I'm having trouble with my MMI and I've been told that resetting it may help. How do I do this and what should I expect?

First, turn off your car engine. Then, press and hold the MENU button on the MMI control panel for about 5 seconds. A new menu will appear, where you can choose the 'Reset MMI' option. This will clear all the settings and data stored in the MMI and it should work properly afterwards.

Resetting the MMI will not affect your navigation, radio, or telephone settings. However, it will reset the sound settings, such as the bass and treble levels, as well as any personalized seat and mirror positions that were saved in the MMI.
