I am experiencing a sudden decrease in power in my Audi 80, what could be the reason?

I have noticed that my Audi 80 has lost a significant amount of power in the past week. The car is not accelerating as it used to, and there is a noticeable lag in speed. I have checked the oil and everything seems to be fine. Could this be caused by a faulty fuel pump or some other issue?

The sudden decrease in power could be due to a clogged air filter. A dirty air filter restricts airflow to the engine, resulting in lower performance. Try replacing the air filter and see if the issue persists.

Another potential cause could be a failing spark plug or ignition coil. These components are responsible for creating the spark that ignites the fuel in the engine. If they are not working properly, it can lead to a decrease in power. Consider getting them checked by a mechanic.

Have you recently had your fuel injectors cleaned? Dirty or clogged fuel injectors can also lead to a decrease in power. It is recommended to get them cleaned every 30,000 miles for optimal performance.
