What causes the sudden loss of power in my Audi 80?

I've been experiencing occasional sudden loss of power while driving my Audi 80. The car will still run but with significantly lower power. This has happened multiple times and seems to be random. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

Based on your description, it sounds like your car may be experiencing a fuel pressure issue. This could be due to a clogged fuel filter or a failing fuel pump. I would recommend getting your fuel system checked and possibly replacing the fuel filter and pump.

I had a similar issue with my Audi 80 and it turned out to be a problem with the mass air flow sensor. This sensor measures the amount of air entering the engine and if it's not functioning properly, it can cause a loss of power. Get it checked by a mechanic and replaced if necessary.

Another possibility could be a malfunctioning throttle position sensor. This sensor helps regulate the amount of fuel and air entering the engine. If it's not working correctly, it can cause power loss. Have it inspected and replaced if needed.
