What is Launch Control in an Audi R8?

I've heard about Launch Control in Audi R8s, but I'm not sure what it is or how to use it. Can someone explain it to me?

Launch Control is a feature in Audi R8s that allows for optimal acceleration from a standstill. It utilizes the car's various systems and sensors to provide the perfect launch every time.

To use Launch Control, put the car in Sport mode and hold down the brake pedal. Then, press the accelerator pedal all the way down until the revs hit around 3,500-4,000 rpm. Release the brake pedal and the car will launch forward.

Make sure to warm up your tires before attempting to use Launch Control. You can do this by driving around for a few minutes and doing a few hard accelerations.
