What is the difference between a supercharger and a turbocharger on an Audi?

I've heard both terms used, but I'm not sure what the actual differences are. Can someone explain it to me in layman's terms?

Superchargers and turbochargers both add extra power to your Audi's engine, but they do it in different ways. Superchargers use a belt and pulley system to increase air flow into the engine, while turbochargers use exhaust gases. Turbochargers have a bit of a lag in power delivery, but they are more efficient at higher speeds than superchargers.

The main difference between a supercharger and turbocharger on an Audi is how they are powered. Superchargers use the engine's power to increase air flow, whereas turbochargers use exhaust gases. Superchargers are generally better for low-end torque and responsiveness, while turbochargers excel at high-end power.
