What is the sound control in the Audi R8 and how does it work?

I'm interested in the technical aspects of the Audi R8 and was wondering how the sound control feature works. Is it customizable? Can it be turned off?

The Audi R8 has an active exhaust system which includes a sound control feature. The system controls the exhaust valves to adjust the sound profile depending on the driving mode and conditions. In dynamic mode, the exhaust valves open earlier and stay open longer, producing a louder and more aggressive engine sound. You can also customize the sound profile through the Vehicle settings menu.
