What should I do if my Audi A7's engine starts to overheat?

I noticed that the temperature gauge on my Audi A7 is nearing the red zone and I can feel the heat coming from the engine. What steps should I take to prevent any damage to my car?

First, immediately pull over and turn off your engine to let it cool down. If you have access to water, pour some over the radiator to speed up the cooling process. Otherwise, just wait for the engine to cool down on its own. Remember not to open the radiator cap while the engine is hot as it can cause serious injury.

Check your coolant levels and top it up if necessary. Low coolant levels can cause overheating. Also, check for any leaks that could be causing the low levels.

If your coolant levels are fine, then the issue could be with your radiator or water pump. It's best to have a professional inspect and repair these components.
