Which engine type is better for the Audi A8: gas or diesel?

I've heard conflicting opinions on the better engine type for the Audi A8. I want to know which type is more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective. I also want to know if there are any important maintenance considerations for either choice.

In terms of reliability, gas engines are typically easier to maintain, as they have fewer moving parts and are less prone to mechanical failures. However, diesel engines offer better fuel efficiency and torque, making them more suitable for long-distance driving or towing.
