Why does my Audi 80 engine make a ticking noise while idling?

I recently noticed a strange ticking noise coming from my Audi 80's engine while it is idling. It seems to go away once I start driving. I'm not sure what could be causing this and if it is something I should be concerned about. Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

It's possible that the ticking noise is coming from a faulty valve lifter in your engine. This can be caused by wear and tear over time and can impact the performance of your engine. I recommend taking your car to a mechanic to get it checked out as soon as possible.

I had a similar issue with my Audi 80 and it turned out to be a problem with the fuel injectors. If the ticking noise sounds like it's coming from the top of your engine, this could be the culprit. I suggest taking your car to a certified Audi technician to get it diagnosed and fixed.
