Why does my Audi 80 make a loud whining noise when I accelerate?

I recently noticed that my Audi 80 makes a loud whining noise whenever I accelerate. This noise disappears when I reach a steady speed. I'm not sure what could be causing it. Any ideas?

Your Audi 80 may be experiencing issues with its transmission. It could be low on fluid or have a faulty torque converter. I recommend taking it to a mechanic for a proper diagnosis and repair.

Check the condition and tightness of your serpentine belt. It's possible that it's worn or loose, causing the whining noise. You can try tightening it or replacing it if necessary.

The noise could also be caused by a faulty power steering pump. I suggest having it checked and replaced if needed. It's important to address this issue as it can affect your car's steering and handling.
