Why does my Audi 80 make a rattling noise when I turn the steering wheel?

I recently noticed that my Audi 80 is making a strange rattling noise whenever I turn the steering wheel. It only seems to happen when the car is in motion. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hi Samantha, it's possible that the rattling noise is coming from a loose or worn out steering column. This can happen over time from normal wear and tear. My recommendation would be to take your car to a mechanic to have it inspected and potentially replaced if needed. It's important to address this issue as soon as possible to avoid causing any further damage to your steering system.

Hello Samantha, another potential cause of the rattling noise could be due to a worn out strut mount or strut bar. These components help support and stabilize your car's suspension system. If they are worn or damaged, it can cause vibrations and rattling noises while driving. I suggest having a mechanic check these components and replace them if necessary.
