Why does my Audi 80 make a rattling noise while reversing?

I recently noticed that my Audi 80 makes a rattling noise when I reverse. It only happens when I am reversing and goes away when the car is moving forward. What could be causing this issue?

The most common cause of a rattling noise while reversing in an Audi 80 is a loose or worn out transmission mount. This is a relatively easy fix and should be addressed as soon as possible to prevent further damage to the transmission.

Check the exhaust system for any loose or damaged components. A loose or damaged exhaust pipe or muffler can also cause a rattling noise while reversing in an Audi 80. This should be addressed promptly to prevent any potential fire hazards.

It is possible that the issue could be with the wheel bearings. If they are worn out or damaged, they can cause a rattling noise while reversing. Have a mechanic inspect and replace them if necessary.
