Why does my Audi A1 emit a squealing noise when I brake?

I recently purchased a used Audi A1 and have noticed that whenever I apply the brakes, there is a high-pitched squealing noise coming from the wheels. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

It sounds like your brake pads may be wearing out and need to be replaced. This is a common issue with older vehicles and can easily be fixed by a mechanic. Be sure to have them check the rotors as well.

Another possible cause for the squealing noise could be due to brake dust buildup on your rotors. Try using a brake cleaner to remove any excess dust and see if the noise improves.
