Why does my Audi A1 make a squealing noise when I start the engine?

I have noticed that every time I start my Audi A1, it makes a loud squealing noise for a few seconds before starting normally. Is this something I should be concerned about? What could be causing it?

This could be a sign of a loose or worn-out belt, such as the serpentine belt or drive belt. It's important to have it checked by a mechanic to prevent any further damage to your engine.

Another possible cause could be a faulty tensioner or pulley. These parts help to keep the belt in place and can wear out over time. A mechanic can easily diagnose and fix this issue for you.

It's not uncommon for Audi A1s to have a problem with the starter motor, which could be the cause of the squealing noise. Have a mechanic check the starter motor and replace it if necessary.
