Why does my Audi A1 make a whistling noise when I accelerate?

I recently noticed a high-pitched whistling noise coming from my Audi A1 whenever I accelerate. It seems to get louder as I increase speed, but stops completely when I let off the gas. What could be causing this and is it something I should be concerned about?

This could be a sign of a damaged or worn out air intake hose. It's important to have this checked as it can result in decreased engine performance and fuel efficiency. I recommend taking your car to a trusted mechanic for a proper diagnosis and repair.

There could be an issue with your turbocharger, causing the whistling noise. It's best to have this checked by a professional as it can be a costly repair if left untreated. Make sure to mention the noise specifically when you bring your car in for maintenance.

I experienced a similar issue with my Audi A1 and it turned out to be a loose bolt on the air filter housing. Check all the bolts and connections in that area and tighten them if necessary. If the noise persists, it's best to have a mechanic take a closer look.
