Why does my Audi A1's engine make a ticking noise at idle?

I've noticed a ticking noise coming from my Audi A1's engine when it's at idle. It's not too loud, but it's noticeable. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

It is normal for some engines to make a ticking noise at idle, especially in colder climates. This is typically caused by the hydraulic lifters in the engine, which can take a moment to adjust to the oil pressure. As long as the noise goes away when you rev the engine, there is nothing to worry about.
