Why does my Audi A2's engine make a clicking noise?

Every time I start my Audi A2, the engine makes a loud clicking noise for a few seconds before it goes away. What could be causing this and should I be concerned?

The clicking noise you hear is most likely due to the valve lifters in your engine. Over time, the lifters can become worn or dirty, causing them to create a ticking noise. While this is a common issue with older engines, it is important to have it checked by a mechanic to ensure it doesn't cause any further damage.
