Why does my Audi A2's engine make a clicking noise on startup?

Every time I start my Audi A2, there is a noticeable clicking noise coming from the engine. It seems to go away after a few minutes of driving. Is this normal or is there a bigger issue at hand?

The clicking noise you hear is most likely caused by a failed or failing hydraulic valve lifter. This is a common issue with Audi A2 engines and is not a major cause for concern.

While it could be a faulty valve lifter, it's also possible that there is low engine oil or dirty oil causing the noise. Check your oil level and schedule an oil change if needed.
