Why does my Audi A2's engine make a high-pitched whirring noise when I accelerate?

I've recently noticed that my Audi A2's engine has been making a high-pitched whirring noise when I accelerate. The noise seems to be coming from the front of the car and can be heard both inside and outside the vehicle. It doesn't seem to affect the performance of the car, but I am wondering if this is a cause for concern and what could be causing it.

This whirring noise could be caused by a damaged or worn out fan belt. It is important to get this checked and replaced if necessary, as a faulty fan belt can lead to engine overheating and other issues.

Another possible cause for this noise could be a worn out or damaged water pump. A malfunctioning water pump can lead to overheating of the engine, so it is important to have it checked and replaced if needed.

Sometimes, the source of the noise could be a loose or damaged pulley. This can cause the belts to slip and make a sound similar to a whirring noise. It is best to have this checked and fixed by a mechanic.
