Why does my Audi A4's engine rattle when idling?

I have noticed that the engine of my Audi A4 starts to make an annoying rattle noise when I keep the car idling for a few minutes. The sound seems to be coming from the engine bay and gets louder as time goes by. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

It is possible that the rattling noise is caused by a loose or worn-out serpentine belt. This belt drives multiple components in the engine and can cause strange noises when it starts to deteriorate. I would recommend checking the condition of your serpentine belt and getting it replaced if necessary.
