Why does my Audi A4's steering wheel vibrate when I hit a bump in the road?

As a new Audi A4 owner, I've noticed that whenever I hit a bump or unevenness in the road, the steering wheel starts to vibrate. It doesn't seem to affect the driving or handling of the car, but it's definitely something I've never experienced before. Can anyone explain why this happens and if it's something I should be concerned about?

This is a common issue that many Audi A4 owners experience. It's likely caused by worn suspension components, particularly the control arm bushings. This can cause the steering wheel to vibrate when going over bumps. It's best to have a mechanic inspect and replace any worn parts to address the issue.

I've seen this problem with my own Audi A4 as well. In most cases, it's the result of unbalanced wheels. Getting your tires rotated and balanced can often solve the issue. It's also a good idea to have the alignment checked while you're at it.

Another potential cause could be a problem with the suspension strut mounts or the steering rack. If the vibration is also felt in the pedals, it could indicate worn strut mounts. If it's only felt in the steering wheel, it may point to an issue with the steering rack. Have a mechanic inspect these components to determine the root cause.
