Why does my Audi A6's engine make a clicking noise when idling?

I recently purchased a used Audi A6 and I've noticed that the engine makes a clicking noise when idling. It's not a loud noise, but it's definitely noticeable. Is this something I should be concerned about?

The clicking noise you're hearing is most likely coming from the engine's hydraulic valve lifters. This is a common issue with Audi engines, but it's usually nothing to worry about. It's caused by the wear and tear of the lifters and can easily be fixed by replacing them.

Make sure to check your oil level, as low oil can also cause a clicking noise in the engine. If your oil level is low, top it up and see if the noise persists. If it does, then it's most likely an issue with the hydraulic valve lifters.
