Why does my Audi A6's engine make a clicking noise when starting?

I have recently noticed a clicking noise coming from my Audi A6's engine when I start the car. It only lasts for a few seconds and then goes away. Should I be concerned and get it checked out?

It is normal for some engines to make a clicking noise when starting, especially after the car has been sitting for a while. This is due to the hydraulic valve lifters filling with oil and will go away after a few seconds. No need to worry, unless the noise persists or gets louder.

One possible cause for this clicking noise could be a faulty starter. You may want to get it checked by a mechanic just to be sure, as a faulty starter can eventually lead to problems with starting the car.
