Why does the Audi A3 have a wider turning radius compared to similar cars in its class?

I have noticed while driving my friends' Audi A3 that it has a wider turning radius compared to cars in similar classes like the BMW 3 Series or Mercedes Benz C-Class. Can anyone explain why this is?

A

The wider turning radius of the Audi A3 is due to its front-wheel drive system. The front wheels have a larger range of motion, making it easier to steer the car at lower speeds. However, this does come at the cost of a wider turning radius.

Compared to other cars in its class, the Audi A3 has a longer wheelbase which can contribute to a wider turning radius. This design allows for better stability and handling at high speeds, but can make it slightly more difficult to navigate in tight spaces.
