Why is the battery life shorter in cold weather?

I recently purchased an Audi e-Tron and I noticed that the battery life seems to be shorter during colder weather. Is this normal or is there a problem with my car? Is there anything I can do to improve the battery life in cold weather?

Yes, it is normal for the battery life to be shorter in colder weather. The cold temperatures can affect the performance of the battery, causing it to drain faster. However, there are some things you can do to improve the battery life in cold weather.

I recommend keeping your car in a garage or covered area during cold weather to help minimize the temperature changes that can affect the battery. You can also preheat your car before driving to help warm up the battery.
