Why is the cooling system in my Audi 80 not working properly?

I recently noticed that my Audi 80's engine temperature is reaching high levels, even though the weather is cool and I'm not driving for long periods of time. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

Your thermostat may be stuck closed, preventing coolant from circulating through the engine and causing it to overheat. I would recommend having a mechanic check and replace the thermostat if necessary.

You may have a leak in your cooling system, causing the coolant to escape and the system not functioning properly. I suggest checking for any leaks and repairing them immediately to avoid further damage.

It could be a problem with your water pump, which is responsible for circulating the coolant throughout the engine. A faulty water pump can lead to overheating and other engine issues. I advise having it inspected and replaced if needed.
