Can the Audi 80's engine oil be checked from the top or does it require access to the underside of the car?

I am in the process of doing regular maintenance on my Audi 80 and I am unsure if I need to hoist the car to check the engine oil level. Can someone provide clarification on this?

In order to check the engine oil level on an Audi 80, you will need to access the underside of the car. There is no option to check it from the top without specialized equipment.
