How can I replace the starter motor on my Audi 80?

I have been experiencing issues with my Audi 80 starting up and I suspect it may be due to a faulty starter motor. How can I go about replacing it myself?

First, locate the starter motor which is typically located on the side of the engine block. Disconnect the battery before starting any work. Then, using a socket wrench, loosen the bolts holding the starter motor in place and disconnect the electrical connections. Carefully remove the old starter and replace it with the new one. Finally, reattach the battery and test the new starter motor.
