How often should I change the timing belt on an Audi A6?

I have an Audi A6 and I'm wondering how often I should change the timing belt to ensure it doesn't fail and cause major damage to my engine. I've heard mixed answers and I'm not sure what the best course of action is.

Alexandra, as a general rule of thumb, it's recommended to change your timing belt every 60,000 miles or every 5-7 years, whichever comes first. However, it's always best to consult your owner's manual for specific recommendations.

Hi Alexandra, I've owned several Audi A6s and I've found that changing the timing belt every 80,000-100,000 miles is sufficient. Just make sure to keep track of your mileage and inspect the belt for any signs of wear and tear before hitting the 100,000-mile mark.
