What is causing the strange noise in my 1993 Audi 80's engine?

I recently purchased a used 1993 Audi 80 and noticed a strange noise coming from the engine. It almost sounds like a rattling or clicking noise. It happens primarily when I accelerate and goes away when I idle. Any ideas on what could be causing this issue?
