Why does my Audi 80 engine sound loud and rough while idling?

I have noticed that my Audi 80's engine sounds loud and rough while idling, but seems to improve when I accelerate. What could be the cause of this problem and how can I fix it?

First and foremost, it's important to check the condition of your spark plugs and ignition system. Worn out or damaged spark plugs can cause rough idling and can be easily fixed with a simple replacement.

Another possible cause could be a clogged air filter. A dirty air filter can restrict airflow to the engine, resulting in a rough idle. It's recommended to replace your air filter every 12,000 miles to prevent this issue.
